Funny you'd say that, as I came to Obsidian because of the simplicity of it (individual text files!!). Thankful for all the options matching our respective styles! I loved that Obsidian offered the possibility of building it from the ground up, without having to front-load systems (unlike, say, Notion - maybe that was just me?). It suits my brain's organization style well.

I have minimal organization in there, and just a couple of plugins. It backstops my dozens of professional and personal projects, plus areas of responsibility, seamlessly so far. I've been exceptionally happy with it as a solution for the past year and I see no issues that would cause me to want to step away for years to come. I am not exactly a beginner though, having used paper-based options, Evernote, Notion, and OneNote for about 25 years. Above all, I am ok with "good enough" so I can move on from thinking about the system and actually use it! I wish for everyone to find their perfect fit, too.
